Attendance

At ACE Tiverton we actively promote and encourage good attendance by students and staff at school. We keep parents informed about the percentage levels of attendance, particularly those who may fall below the threshold of 90%. We celebrate student attendance, looking at the progress made each term on an individual basis.

Our Attendance Lead Mrs Stacy Fagg works closely with the local authority's Education Welfare Officer. They monitor attendance figures and meet termly to discuss any emerging patterns or concerns.

The school day begins at 8.00am with registration. All students should be in school ready to be registered at this time. If your child is unwell, please contact the school office on 01884 763140 by 8.20am. If no contact has been made regarding a child’s absence, admin staff will attempt to contact parents or carers to ascertain the reason for non-attendance.

Each term we will send home a letter regarding attendance for each student . The letters are colour coded and indicate whether attendance is good (green), satisfactory (amber) or a cause for concern (red). If your child’s attendance falls below 90%, a referral will be made to the Education Welfare Officer.

In line with government requirements, holidays will only be authorised in exceptional circumstances. Please note that this does not include financial reasons or visiting relatives. Please refer to the S2 Absence Request Form below for guidance.
